We just got back from Cozumel, it was the best dive trip I have ever been on with more DIVE SITES than you can do in a week. There are lot's of HOTELS to choose from, We chose to stayed at the ALLEGRO RESORT formally known as the Diamond resort. It was recently ranked the world's second best dive resort by Rodale's Scuba Diving. It is a all inclusive deal less the diving which was around sixty five dollars for a two tank dive. There are lot's of DIVE CHARTERS to choose from and we chose PALANCAR DIVERS due to the fact that they were at the resort and I must say they were great. It is very close to the dive sites which means a short boat ride. After the dive you will have the chance to buy a video of your dive for thirty five dollars and I promise you it is well worth the money. The only complaint I have heard about palacar divers is that they return to the resort after each dive then go back out for the second tank. I guess someone will fuss over anything, other than that every one I talked with loved it. The food was great and the drinks never quit coming. When I go back I will stay at the Allegro and dive with Palancar Divers.
The dive shop is right on the beach and some fair diving is within a few steps of the dive shop. The last photo on this page of the Ray was taken 300 yards off the beach at night. The water is
shallow enough there to do it with a snorkel but they will give you a free tank to do a check out dive
which I highly recommend to get your buoyancy under control. This is due to the strong currents that
you will encounter on your boat dive. It's no fun diving with some one that is not ready, for you or them. I can not bare to think anyone would go to Cozumel and not dive, dive, dive but if your don't there are lot's of other things to do an see. If you have questions please e-mail me. If you have a REPORT on another resort or dive shop please file it on my dive report page or e-mail it to me and I will do it for you.
I LOVE COZUMEL!!!
